SAFF
The fiber highlight of my year is always the Southeastern Animal Fiber Fair. As always I had a wonderful time. Unlike some years the weather was beautiful and not unbearably cold (though cool enough to show off sweaters and other hand knit treasures). The shopping is overwhelming and the talent that the vendors, teachers and attendees display makes me humble. But my favorite part? The animals :). I fell in love with a couple of baby Shetland sheep this year and am now in search of a small farmhouse with space for a dye studio and sheep...and a landlord willing to be paid in yarn!

Motorcycle
So, yesterday afternoon I thought I was going to spend the afternoon working on my Secret of the Stole lace project. Instead, Chris and I went to the motorcycle store and, ta-da, came home with a bike! I'm still feeling pretty anxious about him getting a bike, but I know he will be as safe as possible. Though of course its not him that I worry about-- its everyone else on the road!

Weird Medical Procedure
Look at my stitch! I had a mole biopsied (don't worry, my dr doesn't think its anything, it just looked a little odd). It was the weirdest thing. He used this cookie cutter device to remove an itty bitty circle of flesh containing the mole. And then put in one stitch to hold it together. And the strangest part? It never hurt a bit, not even after the numbness wore off.

New shoes!
Look what arrived in the mail yesterday! The puppy ate my good sandals a couple of months ago but I finally found a new pair of comfy sandals (Merrels, of course) for 50% off! woohoo! I need good, supportive shoes that I can wear in the studio and not have to worry about getting them wet or stained with dye. These will be perfect!
